According to DoD 5220.22M standard and National Security Agent (NSA), physical destruction of hard drives destroyed to prevent access to data. The equipment is able to bend the hard drive as V-Shape. This approach doesn’t always destroy the data, but makes the drive inoperable, thereby preventing data recovery by ordinary means.
